<p>This theory was formulated by the naturopathic physician James D&#8217;Adamo, who in 1980 published his first findings in the book entitled &#8220;The food of a man.&#8221;</p>
<p>His son, Peter D&#8217;Adamo, naturopathic physician also deepened in the remarks of his father and published the results in 1996 in the book that has become known worldwide this theory, called &#8220;The Food and blood groups.<span id="more-79"></span></p>
<p>Subsequently there have been other books that address the issue as &#8220;The diet according to your blood group,&#8221; the author Anita Hessmann-Kosaris, naturopath and author of books.</p>

<p>In medicine it has long been known that certain diseases most commonly affect persons belonging to one or another blood group. Dr. James D&#8217;Adamo, after many years of research and experiment, found<br />
that diet also plays a vital role in the interrelationship with the blood type of each individual.</p>
<p>Basically there are four major blood groups: O, A, B and AB, which were characterized as such by the Austrian scientist Karl Landsteiner, Nobel Laureate in Physiology or Medicine in 1930.</p>

D&#8217;Adamo explains that each of these groups emerged in different periods of human evolution. For example, group 0, is the oldest and his ancestors were hunters and gatherers loners, &#8220;people in this group need to eat much meat, fish and some vegetables.</p>
<p>The Group A, known as &#8220;sociable farmers, are more willing to follow an almost vegetarian diet. Need to consume enough vegetables, rice and cereals.</p>
<p>The type B, are labeled as &#8220;the brawny sensitive&#8221; and they require an intake of eggs and dairy products.</p>
<p>Finally the group AB are called &#8220;hybrid&#8221;, having recently emerged.</p>
<p>These guys can eat all the food, although very little meat and fish.</p>
<p>This theory has caused considerable controversy, and how most diets, there are those who praise and criticize harshly.</p>
